Went in on the far side of the lodge as the normal path was closed. New path worked out quite well.
Snorkeled out to almost the point on the right side of the bay. Went down and swam out to the point
and around. There was a lot od surge for a shore dive and visibility got beter as we got farther out.
Lots of herring row on the kelp, first time I have really seen this diving.
Kelp greenling, Painted greenling, Whitespotted greenling, Pile perch, Black rockfish - one nice
school, Copper rockfish, Branching coralline algae, Encrusting coralline algae, Giant kelp, Iredescent
algae, Fish-eating tealia, Moon-glow anemone (S), Orange cup coral, Sea firs, Silver-tip hydroid,
Octocoral, Acorn barnacle, Giant barnacle, Armed hermit crab, Porcelain crab, Decorator crab,
Northern kelp crab, Red rock crab, Common brachiopod, Piddock (M), Leather chiton, Lined chiton,
Mossy chiton, Kelp-dwelling limpet, Rough keyhole limpet, Snail-dwelling slipper shell, White cap
limpet, Blue top snail, Frilled dogwinkle, Leafy hornmouth, Moon snail, Pinto Abalone (A) - many and
large, Red turbin snail, Opalescent nudibranch, White dorid, Taylor's Seahare, Festive tritonia (A) -
over 20 in one area, certainly the most I have ever seen on one dive, California sea cucumber, Red
sea cucumber, Salt and pepper sea cucumber, Bat starfish, Leather starfish, Purple starfish, Nothern
sun starfish, Sunflower starfish, Red sea urchin, Boring sponge, Lobed compound tunicate - only right
out at the point, Pastel compound tunicate, Sea porks, White-crust compound tunicate, Broad-base
tunicate, Light-bulb tunicate, Sea peanut, Stalked, dwarf light-bulb tunicate, Calcareous tubeworm,
Cement tubeworm, Fibre top tubeworm, Slime worm, Two-pronged Tubeworm
